In addition to wood species, Karelia hardwood floors' look is defined also by design pattern, selection and different treatments of wood and surface. Wood and surface treatments give the floor a unique look and wear resistance.
We have divided our floors into different selections by their natural uniqueness and liveliness. Our five selections contain different wood species, depending on their grain patterns and colour. Each of our selections and wood species create a unique and beautiful atmosphere for different interior decorations.
Hardwood floor's strip design shows how many parallel laminae the floor is made of. A Full Plank floor is made of a single board. The 3-strip floor consists of several pieces of wood put in three rows.
Wood and surface treatments:
The most common surface treatment is lacquer. Oil brings out the natural beauty of the wood and is also available in different colours. Our special surface treatments, such as Stonewashed and brushing, give the floor a fresh and new look. Varnish emphasises the wood's own unique colour. Heat treatment is a lively and warm option, giving the decorator a wide variety of different options for interior decoration.
