Neither UV-hardened acrylic lacquer nor the multi layered Silky oil treatment provides any kind of substrata for bacteria or mites that cause allergies. Lacquering and oiling also seal the surface of the wood preventing the dust from spreading into ambient air.

On the other hand UV-hardened acrylic or wood oil are free from any emissions thus not forming a risk for predisposition. Due to very low emissions Karelia hardwood floorings are very clean and hygienic and are ideally suited for people suffering from asthma and allergies.
