Especially in coniferous trees and exotic wood species, such as Merbau, Jatoba and Doussie, the wood's natural resin secretion may occur. It can not penetrate the hardwood floor's wear surface but may cause color changes in the floor's surface. In exotic wood species the resin may penetrate the surface after installation. In Merbau the resin appears as yellow stripes. Such a phenomena is perfectly natural to certain wood species and for its part testifies that a hardwood floor is a non-synthetic, genuine natural material.
