European maple

The timber of European maple is very light in colour tone and sapwood and heartwood cannot easily be distinguished from each other. European maple is a medium hard wood and is very wear-resistant. It gives interior decoration a lively, fresh atmosphere. It retains its fresh luminosity over the years. European maple is a little bit softer than Canadian maple.

Species distribution is Central Europe (Acer Pseudoplatanus = European maple). Maple grows to a height of 21 - 37 m with a trunk diameter 60 - 90 cm, European maple sometimes even 180 cm. Trunks are usually straight and have quite a long knotless section at the base.

Brinell-hardness 2,7 - 3,8.
