Jatoba

Its exceptional hard surface resists the wear and tear of life and creating a patina look, which deepens in both colour and hue transforming Jatoba into a beauty second to none. Jatoba belongs to the "luxury" category of wood flooring.

Timber is deep reddish brown and turns darker after installation. Sapwood is clearly lighter in colour than heartwood. Only heartwood is used for wood floorings. Grain pattern is medium to coarse and mostly interlocked. Brazilian Cherry - Jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril ) is used for Karelia wood flooring. Species distribution is Central and Latin America. Jatoba grows to a height of approx. 40 m with a trunk diameter of 150 - 180 cm.

Brinell-hardness 7,0 - 7,7.

Jatoba may contain small amounts of resin, which shows as light spots on the wood's surface. 

Jatoba is not recommend for locations where underfloor heating has been installed, nor is it sold in Nordic countries.
