Red oak

The reddish appearance of red oak reflects warmth and comfort, which beacons you to live and be content. The timber is more reddish and has a less pronounced grain pattern than normal European oak.

Sapwood is lighter in colour than heartwood. Grain and colour is dependent upon the origin of the wood; upland red oaks, which tend to grow more slowly, generally have a more uniform grain pattern than lowland red oaks.

Brinell-hardness 3,1 - 3,8.
